Locating and Signing Up for the Hunter Education Field Day
If you are under 16 years of age, you will need to locate and sign up for the required Hunter Education Field Day after passing the online portion of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries hunter education course.

Important! Bring a picture ID and your Hunter Education Certificate to the Hunter Education Field Day as proof of having completed the online course.

What to Expect at the Hunter Education Field Day
This in-person Hunter Education Field Day will be 4–6 hours, depending on the number of students attending. Activities include:
- a classroom session
- outdoor shooting
- blood trailing
- demonstrations of tree stand safety
- survival skills
At the Hunter Education Field Day, Louisiana-specific regulations are covered in detail as well as issues that are not covered in this online course. Be sure to have proper clothing for the outdoor sessions.
After attending and passing the Hunter Education Field Day portion of the Hunting education requirement, you will receive your Hunter Education Certificate.
