The Maryland Hunting Safety Course Field Day Workshop

Signing Up for the Field Day Workshop

Once you have successfully completed the online portion of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Hunting education course, you will need to locate and sign up for the required Field Day Workshop.

You must bring your Field Day Workshop Voucher to the Field Day Workshop as proof of having completed the online course. You will not be able to complete the Field Day Workshop without this proof.

Passing the online course does not guarantee you a spot at the Field Day Workshop.

What to Expect at the Field Day Workshop

This in-person Field Day Workshop will be 4–6 hours, depending on the number of students attending. Activities include:

• a classroom session
• outdoor shooting
• blood trailing
• demonstrations of tree stand safety
• survival skills

At the Field Day Workshop, Maryland-specific regulations are covered in detail as well as issues that are not covered in this online course. Be sure to have proper clothing for the outdoor sessions.

After attending and passing the Field Day Workshop portion of the Hunting education requirement, you will receive your Field Day Qualifier Voucher.
